Rob Durnin is a British composer/performer studying in Copenhagen. His music is mostly realised in multidisciplinary projects, with detailed technical exploration as the focus of the work. Central to his work is the use of technology in composition and realisation, as well as the relation we have to technology either as performer, composer, audience or in a border context. Rob is also a member of the contemporary music ensemble K!ART.
WHAT, DE FACTO
In what, de facto, the performance situation is encapsulated in an interactive videogame/live animation. The performers and the technical apparatus of the piece are interred symbolically within the setup and displayed through the animation. In the ensuing reciprocal relation between performer, instrument and composition, the causality of events and independent substantive realities of the piece’s components unfold across the work.
